We kept starting classics and not finishing them. We'd buy a copy, mean to get to it, and then not get to it. Compendium puts the full chapter text on screen while it plays, so a commute or a walk turns into real reading time instead of nothing. The first chapter is always free, and there is no account needed to try it.

Compendium's catalog is built around enduring literature: classic fiction, philosophy, history, mystery, and science fiction, from authors such as Jane Austen, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Plato, Mary Shelley, and Arthur Conan Doyle.
Pricing
The first chapter of every audiobook streams free, with no account required. A 7-day free trial then unlocks the full library; after the trial, full access is $5 per month, and you can cancel anytime.
